\nJob Summary
\nThe Neurodiagnostic Technologist 3 is an advanced level position. They perform procedures according to their skills and facility policies. This includes test setup, electrode application, maintaining patient safety, and other duties. The Neurodiagnostic Technologist 3 supports Baylor Scott & White Health's mission and goals. They accept increased responsibility to help achieve these objectives.
\nEssential Functions of the Role
\n\nAccountable for complete and accurate patient preparation, data acquisition, testing, and providing a safe testing environment.\nComply with policies and procedures. Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines. Protect and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality. Ensure a safe work and care environment for self and patients.\nObserves proper body mechanics while performing work area duties and patient care.\nAdjusts methods for instrumentation to obtain optimal results based on history, clinical observations and test findings.\nDemonstrates advanced knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, basic electronics, electrical safety, and computer skills. Understands END instrumentation, pattern recognition, and medical and pharmacological conditions affecting EEG recording.\nDemonstrates knowledge of appropriate action in an emergent situation.\nMaintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards.\nWill troubleshoot to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. Reports issues to management or appropriate department.\nAssumes accountability, responsibility, and authority for daily department operations. Recognizes limited resources and considers safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in planning.\nInitiates and closely participates in departmental quality improvement. Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.\nOversees daily operations and productivity. May assist management in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating policies and procedures. Monitors budgets, resource allocation, quality improvement, educational programs, and governance councils to achieve goals.\nIs available for On Call as assigned.\n\nKey Success Factors
\n\nDemonstrates advanced knowledge of pattern recognition, artifact troubleshooting and identification, seizure precautions and first aid.\nMust have critical thinking and problem-solving skill. Must be able to communicate thoughts clearly, both verbally and in writing.\nMust relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with patients, families, and employees at all levels.\nAdvanced computer skills, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling, electronic medical documentation, and email.\nAbility to concentrate for long periods of time under stressful conditions while performing properly and effectively.\nAble to stay calm and helpful under stress. EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED EquivalentEXPERIENCE - 4 Years of ExperienceCERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS in 30 days of hire or transfer.
