Responsibilities

The Neurodiagnostic Technologist works in the neurodiagnostic laboratories performing any one or more of the following procedures: Electroencephalography (EEG), Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), and long-term monitoring (LTM). 

The technologist is responsible for complete and accurate patient preparation, data acquisition, providing a safe testing environment and must demonstrate competent skills and knowledge in one or more of these areas. If applicable, you must also be able to work within the EEG/EMU on call schedule including but not limited to after hours, nights and weekends on a rotational basis.

As our Mayo Clinic Neurology department continues to grow in innovation, education, and technology, we are looking for amazing Neurodiagnostic Technologists to join our team. This position can be filled by a Tech I, II or III.

Our technologists are responsible for complete and accurate patient preparation, data acquisition, providing a safe testing environment, and must demonstrate minimum competency, skill, and knowledge in neurodiagnostic procedural testing in the area of hire.

Qualifications

Tech I Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent, or associate’s degree or higher, or an accredited school of END Technology. Must have working knowledge of anatomy and physiology.One or more years in Electro Neuro Diagnostic procedure testing (this includes clinical experience while attending formal END education).

License or Certification

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Must achieve a National Registry certification in at least one of the neurodiagnostic procedures relative to the needs of the department within 2 years of hire.

Tech II Qualifications: 

High School diploma or equivalent, or associate’s degree or higher, or an accredited school of END Technology. Must have working knowledge of anatomy and physiology.Two or more years in Electro Neuro Diagnostic procedure testing (this includes clinical experience while attending formal END education).

License or Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationCertification Registry in one or more of the following: EEG, EP, NCS, CNIM, CLTM, CAP, PSG from an accredited society (AAET, ABEM, ABRET, etc.)  Within two years of employment, specific certification through ABRET - Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (CLTM); is required in the laboratory of hire. The Registry Examination should be attempted as soon as the employee is eligible.

Tech III Qualifications:

Associates degree from an accredited school of EEG/NCS/EP Technology and a National Registry certification in two or more of the following: EEG, NCS, EP Autonomic, Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) or Long-Term Monitoring (CLTM).  Two or more year(s) performing one or more electrodiagnostic procedures in EEG/NCS/EP/IOM/LTM/Autonomic. 

License or Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Certification in two or more of the following: EEG, EP, NCS, CNIM, CLTM, CAP, PSG, CNCT from an accredited society (AAET, ABEM, ABRET, etc).

Experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. Tech I: $29.69 - $44.55 Tech II: $31.49 - $47.25 Tech III: $33.39 - $50.13
