Procedures Obtain patient health information and additional information from medical records and patientcaregivers Explain the testing procedure to patientcaregivers in a manner consistent with their ability to understand in order to establish rapport and elicit cooperationmiddot Calibrate and troubleshoot equipment prior to and throughout procedure to maintain quality and safetymiddot Following system for electrode placement prepare the patient by measuring and marking the patientrsquos head to determine electrode sites Prepare the sites for electrode placements to reduce impedance Securely apply the electrodes Check impedances to ensure electrode integrity After the exam remove electrodes clean and disinfect the instrument for future usemiddot Perform ordered type of EEG routine long term ambulatory etc according to ASET national standards and HHC protocols Modify or adjust the recording strategy andor instrument parameters to ensure a complete comprehensive and technically satisfactory study Maintain physical and electrical safety of patient throughout proceduremiddot Assess patients during exams notify clinical staff as appropriate to changes in clinical scenario eg
