Job Description

Position Summary:

This position is part of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Corporate IT team supporting Secure Core Infrastructure. The role provides direct technology support for offsite networks and headquarters infrastructure.

You will play a critical role in ensuring seamless technology experiences by maintaining high-performance offsite and HQ network and infrastructure systems. Your work helps drive productivity, security, and reliability at the highest levels of the organization.
 

Key Responsibilities:Provide hands-on support and solving offsite networks, including wireless and wired configurations.Support HQ network, compute, storage, and backup infrastructure to ensure operational excellence.Coordinate hardware and technology upgrades for executive environments in collaboration with internal IT teams and VARs.Monitor and proactively optimize network and infrastructure performance, security, and resiliency.Lead or assist with infrastructure enhancement projects at HQ and executive offices.Partner with vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues impacting executive users.
 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Provide white-glove support for executive home networks and HQ infrastructure by proactively managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing network, compute, and storage systems.Demonstrate deep technical expertise in enterprise architecture and advanced networking technologies (e.g., SDWAN, VPNs), ensuring dedication and security.Apply monitoring tools such as Splunk, Netbox, and IP Fabric to maintain infrastructure visibility, identify issues, and drive continuous improvement.Collaborate with internal IT teams, vendors, and VARs to implement upgrades, resolve technical challenges, and enhance executive environments.Communicate effectively with executive customers, managing competing priorities with professionalism, composure, and a proactive approach.
 Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:Experience: 5+ years of demonstrable experience in network engineering within an IT environment.Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.Product: Silverpeak, Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Sonicwall, Meraki, Check Point, Clearpass, Dell, Fortimanager, Fortianalyzer, Panorama, Prisma, Cisco ACSTechnologies: SDWAN, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VPN, Network Security, Point-to-Point VPN, EVPN, VRRP, MLAG, VxLAN, ZTNASkills: Knowledge of network architecture, outstanding problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record in designing and implementing technological solutions.Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCDP) are highly desirable.Good communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
