MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As a Network Support Technician - Senior, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful supporting mission of US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM).

Responsible for monitoring and responding to complex technical control facility hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques. Provides primary interface with contractor support service groups or provides internal analysis and support to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance. May provide network server support. Requires extensive knowledge of PC/network communications hardware/software in a multi- protocol environment, and network management software. May function as lead job providing guidance and training for less experienced technicians.Provide Tier I and II support at remote field and garrison sitesPerform server and desktop installation, basic cablingPerform systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networksProvide desktop system management involving account monitoring, security, operating system (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functionsBe capable of running an entire remote site by themselves with demanding customers in austere or garrison locationsMaintain and load cryptographic device and keysPerform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on many types of hardware and softwareProvide advice and training to end usersTroubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance

Education: Bachelor's DegreeExperience: 12+ years of related experienceTechnical skills:Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network administration and supportKnowledge of related hardware and softwareSecurity clearance level: TS/SCIUS citizenship requiredRequired Certification(s):DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contractIAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalentRequired Computing Environment Certification: MCSA Windows Server 2012, Solaris 10, Linux+, VCP5, Azure Administrator Fundamentals etcRole Requirements:On site daily customer supportCandidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contractPosition may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activityTravel may be required to support the mission
