Discover Impactful Work: The Network Security Engineer has global responsibility for supporting solutions crafted to protect, detect, and alert to security threats in our enterprise network environment.

A Day in the Life

Communicates and engages with the SOC on security incidents related to network security eventsOversees management of security posture for network security platforms such as firewalls, web content filtering, etcMaintains enterprise firewall policy rule base and support the business during technical troubleshooting and support effortsDocuments organizational change requests to support planned maintenance eventsWork closely with our vendors to mitigate threats and vulnerabilitiesResolves security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits

Keys to Success

Ensure documentation and processes are well defined so that the engineered solutions are understood and repeatableMaintaining, updating, configuring, monitoring firewalls, virtual private networks, content filtering, intrusion detection, log management, and security policiesIdentify and implement IT industry standards to improve the organization's security postureMaintaining technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications

Education

Bachelor's Degree in cybersecurity, computer science, systems engineering, or related field. Equivalent work experience is acceptedFour years of related work experience in cybersecurityCertifications are not required but encouraged: Certified Information Systems Security Professional, CompTIA Network+, Security+, or related certifications

Experience

At least two years of experience in zero-trust security framework, user identity and device management, architecturStrong organization skills, leading sophisticated projectExcellent written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Demonstrates knowledge of firewalls, F5s, VPNs, and cloud technologiesMonitoring web security gateways, perimeter security, network access controls, and endpoint securityMaintaining & implementing SOPs for Network SecurityKnowledge of various packet analyzers to perform packet capturesSafeguards information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems
