**Introduction** We are seeking a Network Reliability Engineering (NRE) Developer - highly skilled software developer who understands networking principles and applies them to build scalable, resilient, and automated solutions. This role bridges the gap between software engineering and network operations, leveraging modern development practices to improve network reliability, performance, and automation. You will collaborate with network engineers, DevOps teams, and software developers to create software-driven solutions that enhance network observability, automation, and self-healing capabilities. The ideal candidate is passionate about building robust, efficient systems, has a strong foundation in software engineering and automation, and understands how to apply software-defined principles to improve network reliability. If you are a developer who enjoys solving complex networking challenges through code, this role is for you! **Your role and responsibilities** Key Responsibilities: * Build and maintain software-driven solutions that enhance network reliability, observability, and automation. * Develop tools and scripts to automate network monitoring, configuration management, and incident response. * Implement fault-tolerant architectures, self-healing mechanisms, and automated recovery solutions for network operations. * Analyze and improve network and system performance using metrics, logging, and real-time analytics. * Implement secure coding practices, conduct vulnerability assessments, and ensure regulatory compliance across all solutions. * Design, build, and optimize RESTful APIs to interface with network management systems and automation tools. * Work closely with network engineers, DevOps teams, and software developers to create scalable network automation solutions. * Participate in Agile development cycles, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. **Required technical and professional expertise** Required Experience: * 5+ Years in Development or Similar position with Proven experience. * Strong proficiency in Python, Java, GitHub, JPA, SQL, REST APIs * Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Docker/Containers, Kubernetes * Test-Driven Development (TDD) & Automated Testing - Writing maintainable, testable code using modern testing frameworks * Experience in distributed systems, failover strategies, and resilience engineering * Hands-on experience with SevOne, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, OpenTelemetry, or similar tools * Experience with Hibernate or similar ORM frameworks * Knowledge of CISCO Prime/DNAC, Juniper MIST, Software-Defined Networking (SDN) * Exposure to machine learning models for network anomaly detection, predictive analytics **Preferred technical and professional experience** Create up to 3 bullets max (encouraging then to focus on required skills) IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
