Network Operations Coordinator

_The Network Operations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of ingestion and screening of licensed films and television programs for our networks: Comet, Charge, The Nest & Roar. They perform the critical behind-the-scenes work that keeps our content flowing seamlessly, including readying content from suppliers; performing compliance screening in cooperation with both internal and external teams; and ensuring content is ready to air on time, to spec, within policy, and as an enjoyable experience for our viewers. The role requires an understanding of programming & post-production practices, excellent communication skills, multi-tasking prowess, creative discernment, and balancing competing regulatory, legal, programming, and technical requirements in a fast-paced broadcast television environment._
_This role is based in our Los Angeles, CA office._
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Collaborate with both in-house and external teams to ensure that the creative, compliance, and technical choices for our licensed films and series are appropriately executed to maintain a seamless viewer experience while keeping the content aligned with future programming goals. This process includes:
+ Screening licensed content to determine the necessary steps to safeguard the quality and original creative integrity of our content, while still ensuring said content meets the requirements for use within our broadcast pipeline with a keen eye and innovative solutions. These requirements include ensuring compliance with:
+ FCC regulations
+ Guild legal concerns
+ Supplier agreements
+ Broadcast technical specs
+ Sinclair’s own policies and programming needs
+ Working alongside our external compliance editing teams to enact any necessary changes to licensed content, including communicating with and directing said external teams via email and other communications standards.
+ Ensuring appropriate documentation of compliance, technical, creative, contractual, and other issues with screened content, as well as ensuring proper archiving of that documentation.
+ Using a mixture of in-house and 3 rd -party tools to ensure content is ready to air, including CLEAR, Airtable, WHATS’ON/Mediagenix, Rightsline, Amazon S3, SASO, and Gracenote.
+ Alongside and assisting the Network Operations Manager, the Network Operations Coordinator performs certain record-keeping, metadata enrichment, process improvement, and communications functions that support Network Operation’s commitment to the consistent high quality of our four networks:
+ Attending and contributing to Network Operations virtual meetings & digital communications that typically include members of our business development, scheduling, rights management, and Master Control teams, as well as external editing teams. These meetings maintain optimal project prioritization as well ensure emerging process, metadata, and/or quality concerns are resolved before they impact the broadcast pipeline.
+ Entering and updating any relevant metadata, project tracking systems, and contract data for Growth Networks licensed content.
+ Contributing ideas for improvements to Network Operations’ processes, technologies, or policies.
Required skills and experience:
+ Must be extremely detail oriented
+ Must be an articulate and proactive communicator who can explain precisely what, why, and how creative or compliance-based decisions should be executed to other teams or providers.
+ Must be comfortable viewing/being exposed to potentially objectionable materials (such as film or television scenes with nudity, swearing, drugs, violence, rape, adult situations, etc.) for S&P review
+ Must be willing to maintain and troubleshoot technical infrastructure related to content ingestion and screening including CMS, broadcast technologies, and content management.
+ Must be comfortable in an environment that may require heavy data entry as necessary.
Preferred skills and experience:
+ Prior entertainment experience is a strong plus
+ Prior experience with or exposure to contracts
+ Experience with Airtable or other project management systems
+ Experience with WHATS’ON (aka MediaGenix/Wide Orbit) or other scheduling systems
+ Experience with Rightsline or other rights management systems
+ Experience with Amazon S3, as well as Imagine Versio playout software
+ Experience with CLEAR (Prime Focus Technologies) or related screening systems
+ Experience with Gracenote or relevant industry standard metadata repositories
+ Experience with video editing, sound engineering, coloring, or other post-production skillsets
+ Experience with project management software such as Airtable, Monday, Trello, etc.

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $28.00 to $32.00 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
