Job Description:

GDIT is in need of a Network Engineer ISP/OSP Support Technician supporting U.S. Army Europe as a member of our new 7 year EMITS 2 program in Poznan, Poland.

The Network ISP/OSP Support Technician works as part of an integrated project team and assists with design reviews, planning, and installation of required equipment to support IT Fit-outs and VTC installations across the organization.  The technician will take direction from the Project Manager and assist with the coordination of external vendors and government customers across all phases of the project.  

The technician must be organized and maintain cable infrastructure labeling standards and shall neatly run, bundle and secure the cable and fiber optic runs IAW developed policies, regulations, and procedures. Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process. Plans, implements, and transitions solutions to customer requirements.

As a Network Engineer Senior, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of U.S. Army Europe, AFRICOM and Ukrainian Support. You will play a crucial role in supplying mission command support for this mission.

Actively participate in meetings and brief on the status of all projects whenever necessary, as requestedAssist the team with logistics support as requiredAnalyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problemsAssists with the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as neededCreates plans and configure systems for data communication networksEvaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the networkMaintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assignedAssist in the acquisition of required equipment and supplies via the contract procurement processes and procedures and be able to track and provide customers with status updatesProvide installation and planning guidance to add, move, install, and troubleshoot inside and outside cable plant including copper and fiber infrastructure in accordance with local applicable standardsProvide cable management for classified data networks and Protected Distribution Systems (PDS) to ensure they meet applicable security specifications (RED/BLACK Installation Guidelines in accordance with the NSTISSAM TEMPEST Memorandum)The engineer must be organized and maintain cable infrastructure labeling standards and shall neatly run, bundle and secure the cable and fiber optic runs IAW developed policies, regulations, and proceduresProperly handle and safeguard Controlled Cryptographic Items in accordance with Army Regulations and local security policiesPerform Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) IAW Cable Distribution Standards (CDS) and upload results into IT Service Management (ITSM) or route through the government customer as requiredSupport accreditation efforts and physical security inspections

Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science preferred (years of experience can be substituted for degree requirementExperience: 5+ years of relevant and related military/government experience Technical skills: Experience performing network engineering and administration support is required; Wireless technology knowledge desired; Experience in IT Project Management is desiredSecurity clearance level: Minimum SECRET/SSBI with ability to obtain TS/SCI is requiredUS citizenship requiredRole requirements: ITIL v4 Foundations is required; A current IAT II Certification at time of hire is required; CCNA; BISCI certification is desiredMust be able to obtain German TESA

The likely salary range for this position is $93,500 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
