Network Infrastructure Technician Contract W2 Washington, DC + Public Trust clearance is required. + Local OR Nearby DC Metro candidates only. 100% onsite - no remote or relocation. Position Summary We are seeking Network Infrastructure Technician to support a large-scale office and data centre network relocation (GAO move) . The technicians will assist network engineers with safely moving, installing, racking, and cabling network equipment, and restoring LAN connectivity. This role requires hands-on physical networking experience and careful handling of production equipment . Key Responsibilities + Assist with moving and staging network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, racks) + Rack and mount network hardware + Install and remove copper and fiber cabling + Perform cable management and labeling + Assist with Layer 1 and basic Layer 2 validation (link status, port connectivity) + Support cutover activities under engineer supervision + Maintain clean and organized network closets + Follow all safety and change management procedures Required Skills & Experience + Experience installing and racking network equipment + Strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling and patch panels + Understanding of LAN Layer 1 & Layer 2 concepts (ports, VLANs, link status) + Experience working in data centers or network closets + Ability to handle production equipment safely + Comfortable lifting and moving network gear (within safety limits) Preferred Qualifications + Data center or office migration experience + Familiarity with Cisco and/or Aruba hardware + Fiber cabling experience + Experience supporting live production environments Physical Requirements + Ability to walk between floors and offices + Lift and handle light equipment (e.g., Aruba switches, servers) + Work in confined spaces such as network closets #M1 #DI-CB2 Ref: #851-Rockville-S1 System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, CM Access, TPGS, and MOUNTAIN, LTD., are leaders in delivering workforce solutions and integrated services across North America.
