As a senior-level Network Engineer, you will lead the planning, forecasting, and implementation of highly complex network systems. The Network Engineer IV - Access Network Operations will be responsible for designing and establishing corporate network standards, developing and implementing network enhancements, and recommending improvements to network architecture. You will also lead the implementation of approved network architecture and designs and play a vital role in staff development initiatives.

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.Designing, deploying, managing, and ensuring stability of the local/wide area network infrastructure technologies to provide high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability to effectively and efficiently support mission critical business systems.Demonstrates a high level of competence in LAN/WAN technologies, routing and switching platforms, troubleshooting critical issues, and coordination of implementation.Represents the Engineering Department working closely with Architects and Engineers in designing, modeling, and implementing new technologies.Become a trusted partner of our engineering team through the delivery of excellent customer service and knowledge that will allow our business to grow.Troubleshoots and resolves major network and system issues.Project management – document project requirements including scope, costs, schedule, testing and terms of delivery to ensure project is completed with highest level of quality on time and within budget.Mentors and trains other Engineering personnel in key elements of networking systems and provide technical presentations to instruct co-workers and other production services support individuals.Research and identify technology opportunities and their application to the business.Test and validate all new hardware and connections for proper configuration and performance.Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.Knows, understands and follows company policy.Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

Experience:Six (6+) years of Data network experience Education:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience  Technical Skills:Comprehensive understanding of existing MSO DOCSIS and Fiber network architectures, including hardware, software, and network devices Proficient in access products; CommScope, Cisco, Casa, Vecima, Harmonic, and Adtran.Expert knowledge in Distributed Access Architecture (DAA), Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP), and Remote PHY.Expert knowledge in DOCSIS Standards: In-depth knowledge of DOCSIS 3.1 and DOCSIS 4.0 specifications.Expert knowledge in Fiber-to-the-Premises (FTTP): Including Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) technologies and associated hardware such as Optical Line Terminals (OLTs), Remote OLTs (R-OLT), and Optical Network Units (ONUs).Advanced knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocolsAdvanced knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topologyAdvanced knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI ModelAdvanced knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.Advanced knowledge of basic network devices and basic network appliancesAdvanced knowledge of network designing software, such as VisioSkills and Abilities: Ability to read, write and speak the English languageAbility to use personal computer and software applicationsData networking knowledge (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Transport)Ability to work in a team environmentAbility to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quicklyAbility to use the following office equipment telephone, copier, fax, and calculatorAbility to use personal computer and software applicationsKnowledge of Microsoft OfficeWork Environment: Office EnvironmentWork Schedule: Must be able to work the following schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM and on-call rotation

The base pay for this position generally is between $88,330.00 and $156,530.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
