As a Network Engineer on an Enterprise Zero Trust Program for a DoD client, your responsibilities will include:
Leading in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network systems, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
Identifying, analyzing, and resolving network issues, providing technical support and guidance to other engineers.
Planning for future network needs, including capacity planning, new service offerings, and resource allocation.
Ensuring network security by implementing and maintaining security protocols, monitoring threats, and addressing vulnerabilities.
Documenting network configurations, procedures, and standards, ensuring consistency and maintainability
Leading network engineering projects, managing timelines, budgets, and resources.
Hiring, mentoring, training, and developing other network engineers.
Developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure business continuity in case of network failures.
Involvement in vendor selection, contract negotiation, and maintenance support.
Researching and evaluating new technologies to identify opportunities for network enhancements.
Basic Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in network and communication roles, with a focus on LAN/WAN, wireless, and network security.
Deep understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, the OSI model, and various network topologies.
Expertise in designing, implementing, and managing networks, including LANs, WANs, and wireless services.
Knowledge of network security best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and data security protocols.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve network issues.
Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and technologies.
Knowledge of scripting languages and automation tools to automate network tasks.
Experience in managing network projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
A commitment to staying up to date with the latest network technologies and best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Highly self-motivated.

Required Skills/Knowledge:
Current Secret clearance
Relevant certifications required for Base and Compute Environment applicable to DoD 8570 IAT Level II
Expertise in network design, analysis, optimization, and operation of LAN/WAN and wireless services, as well as network security services.
Experience with routing & switching, multicast, and QoS
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and public relations skills.
Experience with common security threats and protections to network, cloud, and endpoint resources.
Experience in log forwarding and event correlation with an enterprise grade SIEM.
Experience with public cloud networking and security technologies in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
Experience with network security technologies (Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper, etc.)
Experience with SD-WAN solutions and network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
Strong expertise in firewall architecture and security best practices.
Knowledge of cloud security and securing cloud applications.
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in the design, configuration, troubleshooting, and administration of NGFW virtual and physical appliances.
Strong working knowledge of and experience with common network protocols including but not limited to: BGP, OSPF, STP, ARP, VLANs, Trunking, LACP, VPCs, ICMP, LDAP, RADIUS, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, TLS, SMTP, SSH, SCP
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and certificates.
Implementation and administration experience with one or more Multi-Factor Authentication technologies.
Implementation and administration experience with forward and reverse proxies and/or load balancers.
Threat intelligence experience (consumption, presentation, and enforcement of indicators)
Desired Skills/Knowledge:
Design, implementation, and administration experience with one or more Multi-Factor Authentication technologies.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
Familiarity with NIST SP 800 series.
Additional certifications related to Security and Route/ Switch would be a plus
