The Network Engineer II is responsible for designing and engineering enterprise network solutions that support new and existing facilities across multiple sites in the U.S. This role defines network architecture, devices, connectivity, protocols, and standards for new building deployments, packaging designs for handoff to implementation teams. The engineer also maintains and supports core network infrastructure systems, oversees multi-site network designs, and establishes standardized network design practices to ensure reliability, scalability, and consistency across the organization.

This is a hybrid position in Northeast Ohio. A caregiver in this role will work Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm with on-call requirements occurring once every ten weeks.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Install, configure, and maintain network related hardware, software and supporting systems.Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoots production issues both on-site and remotely in response to on-call duties and/or preventative maintenance.Generate and maintain network documentation.Plan, engineer and manage projects.Generate designs and configurations based on our standards and facilitate the acquisition, replacement and disposal of equipment.Perform routine network Move, Add, Changes (MAC).Develop standards for LAN/WAN/WLAN implementations for the operating environments assigned and assist with the monitoring and capacity planning for those environments, especially considering patient care is directly impacted.Provide input and make recommendations for network design standards.Specialize in networking/telecommunications technology yet maintains a higher level of general technology understanding and how it impacts network stability and reliability.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Experience in a multi-systems environmentRequires project management, analysis and consulting skills; requires ability to communicate knowledge of industry standard network protocol; SNA, DECNET, TCP/IP, NETBIOS, IPS/SPX, ISDN, ATM and broadband

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

IT Technical Certifications (CCNA, CCDA, RCDD, etc.)Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent of five years experience in a multi-systems environmentKnowledge of Cisco ACI, standard routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP and SDWAN,Knowledge of Cloud provider connectivityExperience with Cisco wireless products

Physical Requirements:

Manual dexterity to operate computer.Occasional walking, standing and sitting.May require lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds.Requires normal or corrected vision, hearing and speech.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
