Horton, Inc.*is currently looking for a *_Network Engineer I_*. The right candidate willassist in the installation and maintenance of network systems and communications. Configures various network devices and services. Troubleshoots network issues within established guidelines. *Essential Duties and Responsibilities*include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Maintain computer networks including routers, switches, VPNs and other physical hardware/software * Monitor systems to improve network performance for all systems * Troubleshoot, resolve, and communicate networking issues to other employees and management * Install, configure and upgrade network hardware and software * Create firewall rules and update software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected * Implement disaster recovery procedures * Provide on-site support for projects that require on-site installation and support * Design and implement new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks * Arrange scheduled upgrades * Investigate faults in the network * Update network equipment to the latest firmware releases * Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company * Participate in on-call rotation * Report network status to key stakeholders * Perform IP address auditing * Improve knowledge and understanding of network and security best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems * Ability to work overtime * Ability to travel overnight *Education and/or Experience* * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field from a four-year college or university preferred * Zero to 1 year of related work experience * Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license * Knowledge of Windows operating systems * Possess strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills * Ability to execute excellent customer service relationship skills * Ability to collect and analyze information, problem-solve, and make decisions * Ability to learn new technologies quickly * Good time management skills * Ability to follow processes * Strong documentation skills * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications * Proficiency with MS Office and email *Preferred Qualifications* * Prior experience providing network administration a plus * Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) a plus Come join a winning team with a Fortune 500 company!
