Network Engineer / F5 SME
Maximus TCS (Technology and Consulting Services) Internal Job Profile Code: TCS164, T2, Band 5 • Provide daily operational support and troubleshooting for F5 BIG-IP systems (LTM, GTM, APM, ASM).• Manage deployment, configuration, and tuning of F5 appliances and virtual instances.• Design and implement traffic management policies, iRules, SSL offloading, health monitors, and virtual servers.• Collaborate with application, network, and security teams to deliver secure and optimized services.• Perform software upgrades, patches, and system backups.• Monitor system performance and conduct capacity planning.• Ensure compliance with federal security standards (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP). Minimum Requirements TCS164, T2, Band 5 Minimum Requirements (required skills that align with contract LCAT, verifiable, and measurable):
Project Specific Qualifications:• Proficiency in LTM, GTM/DNS, APM, and ASM modules.• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, SSL/TLS, SNMP, and Layer 4-7 protocols.• Experience with iRules and Traffic Policies.• Familiarity with SSO/MFA integrations (e.g., SAML, OAuth).• Hands-on experience with F5 upgrades, HA clustering, and firmware management.• Proficiency with tools such as Wireshark, Splunk, CLI, and REST APIs.

Years of Required Work-Related Experience: • 3–5+ years
Required Certifications: • None required, but F5 experience must be verifiable
Preferred Key Skills and Abilities (not contractually required):• F5 Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or Certified Solution Expert (CSE).• Experience supporting F5 in hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible, Terraform).• Experience with government compliance frameworks (FISMA, FedRAMP, TIC 3.0).#techjobs #veteransPage
