Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity, availability, and security of our complex network infrastructure, specializing in Cisco and Palo Alto security devices.
The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of network protocols, security principles, and industry best practices, with a proven track record of implementing and maintaining robust security policies. This individual will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of network security, from design and implementation to monitoring, auditing, and proactive hardening. A significant portion of the role will focus on Palo Alto Security device management, firewall policy auditing, and security automation.
Key Responsibilities & Function:
Vulnerability Remediation / Patching:
· Contribute to the development and maintenance of the network security architecture, ensuring alignment with organizational security standards.
· Evaluate and recommend security solutions and technologies to mitigate risks across the network.
· Implement and maintain rigorous firewall policies, including intrusion detection/prevention (IDS/IPS), access control lists (ACLs), and threat intelligence integration.
· Implement secure network infrastructure, including VLANs, routing protocols, and network segmentation.
· Expertly manage and maintain Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls, switches, and routers. This includes configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring, and performance optimization.
· Conduct regular audits of existing security policies and configurations to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
· Develop, implement, and maintain ACLs to restrict network traffic based on security requirements.
· Oversee device configuration, updates, and patching, ensuring security vulnerabilities are addressed promptly.
· Implement and maintain scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating security tasks (e.g., vulnerability scanning, log analysis, incident response).
· Utilize security automation tools (e.g., Ansible, SCCM) to streamline security operations.
· Compliance & Standards:
· Stay current with industry security standards (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements.
· Ensure compliance with organizations security policies and procedures.
· Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of network security policies, configurations, and procedures.
· Generate regular security reports for management, highlighting key risks and compliance status.
Collaboration and Communication:
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams including application development, network, operations, and security to ensure seamless integration and operations.

Skills and Requirements
· Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
· Minimum 5+ years of experience in network security, with a strong focus on Cisco and Palo Alto security devices.
· Proven experience managing and maintaining Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls, switches, and routers.
· Experience with security automation and scripting (at least Python or PowerShell).
· Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to security best practices.
· Deep knowledge of networking concepts and security principles.
· Expert proficiency in Cisco IOS and CLI, Palo Alto Networks management interface.
· Experience with security tools (e.g., SIEM, vulnerability scanners).
· Strong scripting and automation skills.
· Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
· Ability to work independently or as part of a team
