Network Engineer

The Network Engineer serves as the technical resource responsible for the configuration, implementation and maintenance of information technology network services. Responds to requests for network services and solutions related to outages, change control or other network issues and projects.

 
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Provides support when systems failures occur and works with outsource network operation/engineering teams, and other service providers.

Responds to service tickets for network issues. Works with the engineering team and Service Desk to resolve network problems.

Facilitate DR/BCP failover functions.

Provides recommendations to bring technical components back on line quickly and efficiently.

Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, security configurations, circuit upgrades.

Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability

Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning

Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure

Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.

3- 5 plus years’ experience in IT Infrastructure development and maintenance.

Experience with firewalls, VPNs, routing, wi-fi and switching

Experience in DHCP, DNS and common troubleshooting tools such as nslookup and wireshark

10% Travel may be required.

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Science: Biology,

Physics, etc.

Experience with routers and switches

Experience with dynamic routing protocols, OSPF. EIGRP, BGP.

Experience with Velo, Cisco, Catalyst, Cisco Nexus, Cisco Meraki, Palo Alto devices

Cisco or other vendor related certifications are preferred (e.g. CCNP)

Google Professional Cloud.

Physical Requirements:

Standard office environment.

More than 50% of the time:

Sit, stand, walk.

Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs.

See, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients.

Less than 50% of the time:

Stoop, kneel or crawl.

Climb and balance.

Carry and lift 10-20lbs.
