At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Network Engineer, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. In this position, the Network Engineer will work with a team of engineers. The successful candidate’s duties will be to work and resolve incident and service request tickets from the ticket queue to completion efficiently and in a timely manner. Furthermore, this role will be required to participate in on-call support, emergency response support, escorting vendors into the data center, and installing devices, running cables, and terminating cables. Finally, the engineer will also provide assistance to other engineers on projects for our customers.

HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Work incident and service request tickets from the ticket queue to completion efficiently and in a timely mannerProvide assistance to other engineers on projects for our customersOther duties will be to provide touch labor such as running and tracing cables, and installing and removing devicesWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
BA/BS (or equivalent experience) and 2+ years of experienceExperience operating and managing networking technologies such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.Experience with installing networking devices and working with Ethernet and fiber optic network cables.Must be able to work co-operatively and independently to accomplish tasks.Ability to lift 40 lbs.NICE TO HAVE:
3+ years of networking experience.Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) certification.CompTIA Security + certification.Ability to have a secret clearanceLocation: Primary work location will be remote, but candidate must be located in the Philadelphia, PA area to provide on-site support as needed.
