PDS Tech Commercial is hiring a Network Engineer I to join our partner, a leading U.S. steel producer, in building, securing, and optimizing high-performance network infrastructure. This role is essential in supporting operations that fuel the nation's manufacturing backbone—where innovation meets industry. Your work won’t just support systems; it will power progress.
Location: Blythewood, AR | Payrate: $40 - $50 | Schedule : 1st shift 8am to 5pm
Your Mission: Engineer Reliability, Build Security, Drive Innovation
As a Network Engineer I, you’ll be part of a close-knit team responsible for designing, securing, and maintaining robust network systems across division sites. From high-speed fiber to cutting-edge firewalls, you’ll help shape the digital foundation of operations that make steel and history.
Your Day-to-Day Will Include:
Designing and configuring reliable, secure networks to support steel operations
Installing and maintaining network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, fiber infrastructure)
Collaborating with local and enterprise teams to implement scalable network architecture
Troubleshooting and resolving performance issues to minimize downtime
Promoting and enforcing networking standards, policies, and procedures
Supporting IT-related projects and ensuring customer satisfaction through timely service
Contributing to safety-first practices in all technical implementations
What You Bring to the Table
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
Hands-on experience with network systems or IT infrastructure
Solid understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN environments, OSPF, and BGP
Familiarity with network security, VPNs, firewalls, and access control models
Basic scripting skills (Python, Perl) for troubleshooting and automation
Strong problem-solving skills and responsiveness in a dynamic setting
Commitment to safety as a top priority
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP
Experience with fiber optics, including single and multimode cabling
Advanced scripting and network automation capabilities
Proven ability to lead small projects or mentor junior team members
Passion for staying current with emerging technologies and best practices

Pay Details: $40.00 to $50.00 per hour
