Network Engineer

GDIT is seeking qualified candidates for Mission Training Complex Capabilities Support II (MTCCS II) program.  GDIT delivers individual sustainment through collective Mission Command training, Leadership Training / Development, Warfighter Functions (WFF) training, Delta Training, First Person Simulations (Gaming), and constructive simulations supported training from Squad through Echelon Above Brigade (EAB).  Technical integration between simulation and C4I systems.  Establish /maintain training and exercise networks.  Accomplish Risk Management Framework Certification and Accreditation security and risk management activities.

HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

The NET ENG will act as the overall communications architect and network team manager for the MTCDesign, plan, implement and oversee classified and unclassified MTC networks, both WAN and LAN that support voice, data, and video services for exercises and eventsProvide Network Tier 1-3 services including cable management, cable installation, configuring TACLANE, and submit/staff/process required documents for services.Function as IMO for NIPR, SIPR, CX-K, KTEN and JMSC-IP Training Network.The NET ENG will work closely with the Ops, Cyber, Comms, and Simulations Managers in order to design and establish network architecture, coordinate network plans, configure network equipment, and assist in installing equipment and circuits in support of distributed events and exercises Manage MTC integration and use of networks owned and managed by external organizations, including NIPR, SIPR, CENTRIXS, tactical networks, and other networks as requiredCoordinates network design, requirements, and responsibilities with other MTCs and training sites, training units and external network and communications organizationsServes as a people managerPerforms other duties as required

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: BA/BS (in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field with concentration in computer-based technology); ten (10) years’ experience in network Architecture design and implementation; three years’ experience working in MTCs.Experience: Minimum 8+ years of experience in network architecture design, implementation, and management;Technical Skills: possess an advanced knowledge in network planning, troubleshooting, and maintenance; two years’ experience in designing and implementing technical support plans for military training and exercises; experience supporting distributed, simulation-supported exercises; demonstrated knowledge of the SCA-V process and be able to apply RMF methodology; understanding of NIST, DoD, Army Cybersecurity and RMF policies, directives, instructions, manuals, and best business practicesCertification: Meet DoD 8570.01 baseline computing environment (CE) certification requirements for Information Assurance Technical Level III (IAT III).Security Clearance Level: Active Secret required, must be able to obtain and maintain an Active TS/SCIRequired Skills and Abilities:Advanced knowledge of network hardware and software components; strong understanding of technology integration, information flow, configuration and implementation of LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP; firewalls and security and storage and backup methodologies;Knowledge of current industry methods;Experience in applying network patches and STIGs and performing other RMF Cybersecurity tasks; excellent communications skills and ability to brief senior leaders in layman’s terms  Preferred Skills: Ten (10) years’ experience in network Architecture design and implementation;Military and MTC experience;Experience designing tactical networks at the Division level and higher; experience working with Microsoft server platform and Cisco routers and switches;Knowledgeable in MSPP, MPLS, and SONET configurations, architecture, and technologies; knowledge of specific product lines, e.g., Cisco, Fujitsu, Hewlett Packard, Tripwire, and Solar WindsLocation: On Customer Site; moderate travel to other customer sites throughout the Pacific AoR
