Experience Required: 5 to 7 years experience in support, design and implementation of LAN, WAN, Wireless LAN, Internet, Converged Networks, ACI Fabric, Software Defined Networking, Firewalls, Security Appliances, Cloud Integration and Unified Communications.Experience Desired: Cisco and Aruba network hardware, CheckPoint Firewalls, SDWANKnowledge of business procedures and their interrelationships as well as an overall knowledge of technical disciplines recommended;Must have solid platform skills;Ability to learn new technologies within a few weeks;Strong design and programming skills requiredEducation Required: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related fieldThis position will be required to provide on-call support on a rotational basis
Job Responsibilities
Maintain cognizance of all internal standards and procedures, industry trends and new technologies to ensure that Giant Eagle, Inc. keeps current with information technology.
Design and plan cost-effective fault-tolerant voice and data network solutions.
Review and recommend vendor proposals for voice and data communications networks by determining need, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of vendor proposals.
Manage network performance by monitoring network throughput, recommend and implement performance solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems to maintain communications and ensure no disruption of mission critical applications.
Experience implementing and maintaining the following:Cisco ACI fabricCitrix NetscalerCheckPoint firewallsIn a retail environment, experience implementing and maintaining the following technologies at over 500 sites:SD-WAN technologiesAruba switchingAruba wireless solutionsOrganize, prepare and maintain system documentation according to established standards to facilitate ongoing support and maintenance.
Produce all reports requested by management accurately and timely.
Participate in Corporate Auditing reviews and assemble change management documentation as required.Collaborate with third-party support and service vendors to ensure that the network stays operational
Report all problems or potential problems to appropriate management in a timely manner using corporate root cause analysis documents and procedures.
