Network Developer II

Looking to advance your career as a developer while working with innovative network technologies? At Spectrum, the Network Developer II plays a vital role in building, testing, and launching microservices and user interfaces for the Spectrum Enterprise Service Engine platform. Your contributions will help ensure our services and network devices deliver consistent quality to our customers, making a direct impact on our technology offerings.


How You’ll Make an Impact

Add new tests cases to internal test suite to test services and resource adapters to provide quality assurance
Develop microservices, APIs, and service templates that define the services (Fiber Internet Access, ELine, etc.) that we provide to our customers. Develop resource adapters that act as firmware drivers to the Network Devices (Cisco, Juniper, ADVA, RAD, etc.) that support the services that we provide to our customers. Check in and review code, to our GIT source control repositories
Deploy code to our development, QA, Staging and Production servers using our continuous integration and deployment pipeline platform. Test new services are functioning as expected using our testing framework, and add new test cases to the test suite to continuously improve our quality assurance bar
Able to work in an Agile programming environment, and therefore it's required to understand Agile sprints, standups, retrospectives, and planning sessions

Required Qualifications

Experience:
(Two) 2+ years of software development experience
(Two) 2+ years of network engineering experienceEducation:
Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience or equivalent combination of education and experienceSkills:
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Demonstrated ability to manage and execute on multiple, critical projects simultaneously
Demonstrated interpersonal and professional communication skills
Understanding of Ethernet, IP,TDM based networks and architectures, routing protocols, network topologies, Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) Technical Specifications, and command line interface
Experience with scaled agile framework, roles, and philosophy
Understanding of software lifecycle and industry best practices for software development
Must be customer-focused and service-oriented
Demonstrated in-depth business planning and forecasting skills, as well as analytic, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to analyze data and develop and present data driven report
Software development skills needed: Python, Git Source Control, Jenkins CI/CD, SQL, Web Services, MuleSoft, Docker
Network engineering skills needed: MEF CECP / MEF NF/ MEF SDN-NFV, CCIE/JNCIS, ONF SDN Associate
