Level will be determined by qualifications. JOB TYPE: Unclassified* *Current Classified employees must give up their designation to accept this position. POSITION DESCRIPTION: Plans, Organizes, and directs the activities of the organization, ensuring regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction. Develops goals and objectives IAW applicable guidelines and policies. Provides advice to LMD staff as well as J6 Director and SEA on significant issues and accomplishments of the staff. Assigns work to subordinates and coordinates with J6 section supervisors on current and upcoming requirements. Acts as the liaison between LMD and J6 in all matters related to information technology during steady state and all hazard events. Must be available to work in emergency situations, after normal business hours, and weekends as required. Acts as the J6 representative or alternate in reporting NGB quarterly I.T. metrics and keeps the J6 director up to date on any deficiencies or potential areas of concern. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies and procedures. Completes appraisals for subordinate workers and ensure equality in all ratings. Promotes an environment of in which all employees are treated equal and fair and are empowered to contribute to effective mission accomplishment. Approves leave schedules and ensures time and attendance is accurate and turned in on time. Represents the organization in a variety of functional areas. Establishes, develops, and maintains working relationships with National Guard Bureau, LANG directorates and sister state agencies. Works with all agencies and directorates to support all hazard events to ensure LMD and J6 effectiveness to support the TAG and Governor's vision of the LANG coordinated response. Participates in special projects, upgrades of software and equipment, life cycle management of state and federal assets, and prepares direct responses to LMD and J6 directors. Ensures a fair and ethical climate throughout the J6 where all employees can grow, learn, and reach maximum potential in support of local, state, and federal missions. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Must have knowledge of computers, software, and peripherals used by LANG. Knowledge of software and hardware platforms used to interpret the complex algorithms used In network attacks. Knowledge of the ACAS process. Knowledge of security logs and group policy objects and how they are stored and accessed. IO years of IT experience or a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Information Systems, and an up to date SECRET security clearance. Certifications in A plus, Network plus, and Security plus are required. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: + Must have a valid Driver's License, Social Security Card and Birth Certificate. + Must be available to report to duty during emergency or disaster situations for extended hours over an extended period of time. Other periodic travel may be required. + Must meet physical requirements to perform functions of the position. + Must attend/complete all Louisiana Military Department (LMD) annual training and other training required for the position. + Must adhere to the Code of Ethics and foster a Sexual Harassment-Free Environment.
