Network Cloud Architect
Insight Global
Job Description
Role Summary
The Cloud Network Architect is a senior, hands-on technical leader responsible for designing, building, and operating large-scale public cloud network infrastructure with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and prior experience in AWS. This role leads cloud network architecture from strategy through implementation, creating secure, scalable, and highly available cloud environments that support enterprise application workloads migrating from on-premises environments.
This position emphasizes infrastructure architecture and build-out, not application development. The architect produces detailed network and cloud architecture blueprints, defines standards and best practices, and provides technical leadership to engineering teams while working closely with Product Management, Security, and Operations. The role requires deep experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), GitOps, and hybrid connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud & Network Architecture
Design and deliver comprehensive public cloud network architectures, primarily in GCP, including landing zones, VPCs, subnets, shared services, routing, load balancing, DNS, and interconnects.
Architect and implement hybrid cloud connectivity, including VPNs, Interconnects/Direct Connect, and secure integration with on-premises environments.
Design highly available, fault-tolerant, and disaster recovery–ready network solutions for enterprise workloads.
Produce architecture blueprints, diagrams, and design documentation that guide implementation and align with product and technology roadmaps.
Infrastructure Delivery & Automation
Build cloud infrastructure using Terraform as the primary Infrastructure as Code tool.
Apply GitOps practices using GitLab (GitHub experience acceptable) to manage infrastructure lifecycle and change control.
Use scripting (Python, Bash) to automate provisioning, operations, and monitoring workflows.
Support migrations of network and infrastructure workloads from on‑premises environments to public cloud.
This role is fully remote and offering an hourly rate of 70-75 an hour.

Terraform expertise is mandatory.
Strong Git/GitOps experience (GitLab preferred).
Experience designing and building cloud landing zones and core infrastructure.
Hands-on experience with Linux environments.
Proficiency with Python and/or Bash scripting.
Experience designing secure, highly available, and scalable cloud infrastructures.
Strong documentation and communication skills; ability to produce clear technical design artifacts. Experience with Ansible or other configuration management tools.
Familiarity with Kubernetes and container platforms (GKE, EKS).
Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure automation tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
Database exposure (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, MSSQL).
