NTT Data Greece team is looking for a Network and Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Athens to work with our clients in the European public sector.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network and Security SME to provide expert-level guidance on the design, implementation, and management of secure network infrastructures. The SME will play a critical role in ensuring the organization’s network and security posture aligns with industry best practices, compliance requirements, and evolving threat landscapes.

Your role:

Serve as the primary expert on network architecture, security protocols, and threat mitigation strategies.Design and review secure network solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and segmentation.Lead security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing initiatives.Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and compliance teams to ensure secure deployment and operations.Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.Monitor and respond to security incidents, conducting root cause analysis and recommending improvements.Stay current with emerging threats, technologies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIS2, GDPR, ISO 27001).Provide training and mentorship to technical teams on security best practices.Support audits and compliance reviews by providing technical evidence and documentation.

Your profile:   

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.7+ years of experience in network engineering and cybersecurity roles.Deep knowledge of:Network protocols and architectures (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, etc.)Security technologies (firewalls, SIEM, endpoint protection, etc.)Cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)Cloud Infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)Network Architecture & SecurityDevOps & CI/CD PipelinesVirtualization & Containerization (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes)Identity & Access Management (IAM)Data Center OperationsInfrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)Strong understanding of risk management, incident response, and compliance frameworks.Excellent communication and documentation skills.Fluency in English (B2 level minimum); knowledge of another European language is a plus.You must be eligible for EU Security Clearance (at least 5 years of EU nationality in required).
