Job Description We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network and Computer Systems Administrator to join our team within Benet Laboratories at Watervliet Arsenal, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows infrastructure systems such as Domain Controllers. This role requires a proactive individual who can monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the high availability and reliability Windows-based infrastructure. Position Responsibilities · Monitor system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of Windows-based infrastructure. · Implement and maintain security measures to protect Windows systems from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with industry regulations. · Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures to minimize data loss and maintain business continuity. · Automate system administrative tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell to streamline processes and improve efficiency. · Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure proper system security and data integrity. · Install, configure, and maintain network services, including DNS and DHCP · Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades to improve system performance and scalability. · Configure, update and manage Domain controllers, Certificate Authorities, and Group Policies. Qualifications · Strong knowledge of Windows Server Operating systems such as Server 2019/2022/2025 · Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory management including Domain Controllers, Certificate Authorities, Key Management Servers. · Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and services, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and VLANs. · Understanding of security best practices and experience in implementing security measures on Windows systems. · Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues. · Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams. · Strong communication skills to effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders. · Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. Education and Experience Requirements · Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, a related field or 5 years of equivalent work experience. · Proven work experience as a Windows System Administrator or a similar role. · Security+ Certification is required Preferred Requirements · Familiarity in virtualization of servers and software · DISA/DoD security requirements such as STIGs Work Location · This is position is within Benet Laboratories at Watervliet Arsenal, NY. · The position is on-site for a minimum of two months to start with the possibility of being hybrid afterwards.
