If so, lets talk. **Your role and responsibilities** * Administer, monitor, and maintain Netezza / PureData systems in production and non-production environments. * Perform daily health checks, capacity management, backup, and recovery operations. * Manage and tune system performance, identify bottlenecks, and apply optimizations. * Plan and execute software upgrades, patches, and firmware updates. * Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity. * Automate routine administrative tasks using shell scripting and other tools. * Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and data engineering teams for deployment and performance optimization. * Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation to support production systems. * Maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and operational procedures. * Support database migrations and integration projects involving multiple database platforms. **Required technical and professional expertise** * Strong hands-on experience with IBM Netezza / PureData administration and troubleshooting. * Proficient in Linux system administration and shell scripting (bash/ksh). * Strong understanding of database concepts, performance tuning, and query optimization. * Experience with backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery planning. * Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures. * Experience in working in mission-critical 24/7 environments. * Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. **Preferred technical and professional experience** * Exposure to other database technologies such as DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, etc. * Knowledge of ETL tools (e.g., DataStage, Informatica) and data warehousing concepts. * Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Nagios, OEM, or similar). * Experience in scripting or automation frameworks (Python, Ansible, etc.) is a plus.
