Responsibilities

The research laboratory of Dr. Knauf focuses on metabolite homeostasis and its significance in both health and disease. This work is highly interdisciplinary, ranging from organoid studies to research involving animal models. Dr. Knauf’s team plays a pivotal role in bridging experimental and clinical research by testing new hypotheses in patient cohorts and investigator-initiated trials—hypotheses that are often developed through experimental studies.

Dr. Knauf previously held faculty positions at Yale University and Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. He recently joined the Mayo Clinic, where his research continues in close collaboration with teams at these esteemed institutions.



Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with:

A completed degree in the natural sciences

A strong track record of research, demonstrated through publications in internationally recognized journals (preferably as first author)

Extensive experience with experimental techniques, especially in mouse models

High proficiency in cell culture experiments

Strong motivation, the ability to take initiative, and a team-oriented mindset

Analytical thinking, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a responsible work ethic

Enthusiasm for co-supervising doctoral candidates and students

$64,079.00 - $74,963.00 / year; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
