Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Neonatology **Webster, Texas, United States** Nursing & Care Management UTMB Health Requisition # 2504782 **Minimum Qualifications:** + Master of Science in Nursing or higher + Current valid license as registered nurse in the state of Texas + Current NNP-BC certification from the National Certification Corp (NCC) Board of Nurse Examiners + Full authorization to practice by the Texas Board of Nursing + AHA/AAP hospital-based provider for Neonatal Resuscitation Program **Job Summary:** Provides advanced practice health care services to high-risk newborns and infants who need intensive medical attention due to low birth weights, prematurity, infections, congenital anomalies, or other health conditions; as well as documentation of services, collaborates with colleagues and clinical director, supervises assigned support staff, participates in quality assurance activities, and demonstrates a commitment to quality health care. **Job Duties:** + Works independently to full scope of practice in compliance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act with acknowledgement of off-site collaborating physician availability for consultation and collaboration. + Performs individualized history and physical examinations for diverse populations inclusive of social determinants of health. + Orders and interprets diagnostic testing in accordance with relevant health concerns of the patient. + Develops a comprehensive plan of care that encompasses evidence-based practice guidelines, practice protocols, Medicare, Medicaid, and other state and federal regulations. + Prescribes appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments. + Provides appropriate education for current health diagnoses as well as anticipatory guidance for health promotion and disease prevention applicable to the individual’s health and socioeconomic status. + Monitors plan of care for cost-effectiveness and the achievement of expected improvements, while openly seeking feedback from patients, significant others, colleagues, allied health, appropriate referrals, and collaborating physician to enhance quality outcomes. + Facilitates patient transition within and between health care services to ensure accurate communication among the health care team. + Documents in a timely manner to ensure all services are accurately accounted for and available for review by the interdisciplinary team. + Serve as a clinical mentor and role model for professionalism, communication, and teamwork with NP students, fellows, residents, and other learners. **Preferred Qualifications:** + One year of experience in Level III/IV NICU + Delivery room resuscitation and stabilization experience **Salary Range:** Commensurate with experience. **EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:** UTMB Health strives to provide equal opportunity employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, genetic information, disability, veteran status, or any other basis protected by institutional policy or by federal, state or local laws unless such distinction is required by law.
