Job Opportunity: NDT Lead
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified NDT Lead to oversee and manage all NDT-related activities across multiple major offshore projects within the project field development. This role is critical to ensure the structural integrity and quality of assets delivered to Field Operations (FOPS).
Key Responsibilities Provide expert guidance on all (NDT) activities across Major Projects. Supervise and support MP NDT Inspectors across all project packages to ensure consistent and compliant NDT execution. Ensure implementation of Technical Referential and adherence to applicable local and international codes and standards. Support project teams during detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, transportation, and offshore installation phases. Collaborate with Engineering and Construction departments and Technical Reference Persons to manage deviations and maintain alignment with company standards. Contribute to the regular update of company standards related to NDT, incorporating international best practices and lessons learned. Support the evaluation and qualification of new manufacturers for inclusion in the Preferred Manufacturer List (PML), focusing on NDT capabilities.
Core Activities Promote and ensure compliance with company HSE policies and safety procedures. Maintain confidentiality of all project-related information. Participate in contractor and vendor kick-off and pre-inspection meetings. Conduct regular site visits to audit and support NDT activities across all projects. Review and validate NDT procedures, method statements, and inspection records. Participate in the qualification of advanced NDT techniques such as PAUT, TOFD, and Pipeline AUT systems. Oversee qualification and testing of NDT operators. Approve NDT documentation via COMPANY’s Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). Provide technical and quality-related advice to project teams. Address and resolve technical queries, deviation requests, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and concession requests. Lead investigations into significant NDT-related quality issues. Participate in technical audits and assessments of contractors and vendors. Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs), to the Head of Projects QA/QC. Contribute to project close-out activities and document lessons learned and quality feedback.
Qualifications & Experience
Mandatory Certifications (Valid): ISO 9712 (COFREND or equivalent): RT Level III – Radiographic Testing (Conventional & Computerized) UT Level III – Conventional Ultrasonic Testing UT/TOFD Level III – Time of Flight Diffraction UT/PAUT Level III – Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing PT Level III – Penetrant Testing MT Level III – Magnetic Testing VT Level III – Indirect Visual Testing Preferred Additional Qualifications: Ultrasonic Conventional Flaw Characterization Advanced Guided Wave Ultrasonic Testing Radiographic Imaging Interpretation (Ir192) Professional Experience: Minimum of 15 years in a similar role within the oil and gas industry. Proven experience in subsea systems, including pipelines and offshore platforms. Familiarity with automatic welding and PAUT systems is essential. Strong knowledge of international standards: ASME, API, DNV, AWS, ASTM, NACE, ISO. Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and complex project environment. Fluent in English (spoken and written). Valid H2S OPITO and T-BOSIET certifications.
Work Environment Based in Doha, Qatar. Frequent international travel and offshore assignments required. Projects involve complex interfaces with various entities and are executed across multiple global locations.
