HOW A NCRB SYSTEM/NETWORK ARCHITECT/ENGINEER (SENIOR LEVEL) WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

In this role, a typical day will include:

Application of change control processes and tools to create a strategy for a project or initiative.Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness provide input, document requirements and support the design. Experienced with firewall operations, management processes and leading practices.Can review existing firewall rules for compliance, efficiency, and accuracy.Has a strong understanding of IPv6 and RFC 1918

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, preferred but not required.NOTE: If resources do not have a relevant college degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required.

Required Experience:

11+ years’ experience in IT, data, or operational analysis, and/or securityCompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Sec+Skilled Communicator – Facilitator. Able to engage and interact with all organizational/personnel levels.Good communication skills in dealing with Telecommunications engineers and business ownersConsult with other members of the project team and develop documentationDemonstrable awareness of Splunk reporting.Demonstrable Admin knowledge and for Windows, Unix, and Cisco.Experience with network firewalls, routers, switches and rule configuration for Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet devicesReview firewall rule sets and log analysis for inefficient, unapproved rulesResearch problems and recommend solutions to improve security with the assistance of AI.  AI should be used to ensure regulatory compliance by using it to analyze large datasets to identify potential violations and track compliance effortsSupport a nationwide implementation of firewalls (Validate, test, and manage firewall rules).  This is currently a manual process, moving forward AI needs to be engaged to analyze data to identify trends and patterns, providing insights that can inform policy development and decision-making for managing firewall rules, validation and testing.Familiarity with network discovery tools and Experience with Change/Incident/Problem managementComplete change control assessmentsIdentify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation tactics using AI or LLMIntegrate change control activities into project planDefine and measure success metrics and monitor change progressExperience and knowledge of change control principles, methodologies, and tools

Security Clearance Level:

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprintingThis position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.
