Responsibilities

Applicant will work in a fast paced environment supporting various DoD software development platforms in a secure Classified environment.  Applicant will be expected to perform the following job duties:

Installing, configuring and managing the Linux operating systems and related toolsetsGathering requirements, developing and conducting design reviewsMaintaining servers to be compliant per NAVAIR and DISA policiesFunctional knowledge of backup and disaster recovery technologiesStrong understanding of system security principles and experience executing hardening techniquesDocumentation – updating and maintaining documentation and knowledge base, including system descriptions, procedures, events and processesBuilding new infrastructure serversMaintaining, administering and patching systems for optimum performance and securityMigrating or updating systemsParticipating in weekly routine maintenance tasksResponding to system failures promptly to bring applications back onlineInstalling and troubleshooting common industry COTS and GOTS applicationsPerforming Continuous Monitoring actions for systems and infrastructure including scanning, DoD STIG application and other Cyber compliancy actionsWork in an Agile scrum methodology to track and report on taskingA background or working knowledge of scripting and automation tools Qualifications Five (5) years' or more of hands-on experience working with UNIX/Linux and Windows.Experience in DoD Information Assurance/Cyber policy and procedures to include hardening of systems, implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and scanning.Experience with Linux Server to include the build, maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as addressing, service requests, routine sever maintenance (firmware, failures, hardening, etc.), and server consolidation.Experience with UNIX/Linux, Red Hat, CentOS (Linux).DoD 8140 & 5239 compliant (Security + certified and OS certificate/certification) (formerly 8570).Working knowledge of supporting software development.Critical thinking skills and the ability to “think-outside-the-box” to solve complex technical issues is essential.Candidate must have a current Secret Clearance. Must have ability to obtain a Top Secret, Interim Top Secret required to start.Must be a US Citizen 

Desired qualifications: 

Familiarity with containerization concepts and toolsUnderstanding of container orchestration and management (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm).Experience with CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications.Experience with Ansible Pay Transparency Statement AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $91,600.00/Yr. - USD $153,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
