This is a **full-time and temp to hire opportunity** to join a detail-driven and dependable production team. This is a 1st shift position from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM As a Production Assistant, you will support the manufacturing of leather standards—handling everything from crust sorting, cutting, and stamping, to labeling and preparing shipments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving manufacturing environment. This role offers growth potential for candidates interested in learning and expanding within the production and administrative process. **Responsibilities:** **Production & Quality** + Visually inspect leather hides/splits for quality throughout the process. + Perform cutting, sorting, and stamping tasks to prepare samples for embossing. + Operate the embossing press (Mostardini) and clicker cutter to produce accurate, defect-free samples. + Assemble, label, and package completed leather sample binders for shipment. + Track blocker cutting performance and maintain inventory of materials and finished goods. + Maintain logs with trial results and settings for each embossing plate. + Inspect and document any defects in new tooling equipment. **Administrative & Shipping** + Manage the Corporate NML email account and maintain an active log of book/sample orders. + Work with Accounting to generate customer invoices. + Prepare domestic and international shipments using UPS, FedEx, etc. + Track monthly project performance and consumable supply levels. + Assist with process improvement efforts, including researching and quoting new equipment. **Requirements:** + High school diploma or equivalent. + Ability to understand and communicate in English. + Manufacturing experience preferred. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.). + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. + Ability to lift tooling plates and materials (up to 50 lbs). + Comfortable standing throughout shift in a fast-paced setting. + Willingness to learn new processes and work well within a team.
