NAIS Network Administrator (Hybrid)

The Network Administrator will be responsible for the network administration of all NAIS equipment supported by C5ISC. Situational telework or temporary remote work is possible with COR approval.
This Hybrid position requires that you live within commuting distance from Suffolk, VA.
**Responsibilities**
**Network Administrator duties include:**
+ Remotely respond to NAIS system casualties within two business days of notification.
+ Notify the COR of any software or firmware updates requiring a change to the NAIS established baseline.
+ For software controlled through the NAIS Configuration Management process, the Network Administrator(s) must ensure deployed software is in compliance with current baseline documentation.
+ Deploy any software or firmware updates requiring a change to the NAIS established baseline via TCTO or standard change process.
+ Provide Network Administration of Microsoft Windows OS’s and VMWare Virtual based systems for NAIS.
+ Provide hardware and software support and configuration services for all NAIS assets.
+ Perform the complete device setup of NAIS Operating Systems (for items received at C5I-NAIS-LAB) to include, but not limited to, Windows and peripheral devices IAW USCG directives.
+ Ensure that Server and Client System BIOS configurations are current and in compliance with current USCG policies and procedures, to include IA standards.
+ Develop and implement necessary script files to assist in the administration and management of both local and remote NAIS systems.
+ Utilize approved USCG and NAIS applications to conduct hardware and software performance monitoring.
+ Monitor and maintain the NAIS Firewall operations to include configuration, monitoring, and maintenance.
+ Monitor and maintain both local and remote Uninterrupted Power Supply configuration.
+ Maintain the NAIS Active Directory objects IAW USCG policies and procedures.
+ Provide support for Access Database creation, maintenance and management.
+ Program/Configure NAIS Base station equipment prior to shipping to the receiving unit IAW USCG NAIS policies and procedures.
+ Provide Patch Management to all NAIS assets IAW USCG and NAIS policies and procedures to include testing and implementation.
+ Maintain system security standards IAW current USCG IA policies.
+ Maintain the local NAIS Virtual Server Environment to include maintenance, upgrades, and updates.
+ Maintain NAIS Network Switch Devices IAW USCG policies and procedures.
+ Develop, update, and maintain documentation for all items pertaining to NAIS IT operations and maintenance.
+ Develop and maintain System Backup Plans to support storage of critical configuration and data files.
+ Develop and maintain NAIS System Recovery Plans to support restoration of NAIS assets.
+ Develop and maintain Network Administration Plans and procedures in support of daily NAIS IT operations.
+ Develop and maintain System Diagrams to show current placement, interfaces, and layouts of all NAIS assets. Diagrams will be completed in, but not limited to, AUTOCAD or Microsoft Visio.
+ Develop and maintain all NAIS Software and System User Manuals to assist administrative procedures and configuration of NAIS IT assets.
+ Develop and maintain Network Identification information to include location and IP information.
+ Assist in performing the complete setup on NAIS Operating Systems (for devices received by field units/ shipped to unit by SFLC) to include, but not limited to, Windows and peripheral devices IAW USCG directives.
+ Install and maintain current VMWare OS in support of the lab environment located in the C5ISC NAIS facility.
+ Install and maintain the required HBSS Antivirus (AV) files provided by USCG to the workstation and servers ensuring that the functionality meets current requirements.
+ Coordinate with USCG assets to resolve any issues resulting in nonoperational functionality of the current HBSS environment on NAIS assets.
+ Utilize USCG provided HBSS monitoring tools to identify compliance or issues with the application installed on NAIS assets.
+ Install and maintain required client applications to ensure complete functionality of the USCG’s System Center Configuration Management (SCCM) on all NAIS assets.
+ Coordinate with USCG assets to resolve any issues resulting in nonoperational functionality of SCCM on NAIS assets.
+ Utilize SCCM monitoring tools to identify compliance or issues with the application pertaining to NAIS assets.
+ Maintain all NAIS COTS/GOTS Software products to include upgrades and patches.
+ Create and maintain all NAIS Administrator accounts in compliance with USCG standards.
+ Ensure that USCG naming conventions are followed on all NAIS hardware assets and user accounts.
+ Ensure all hardware, software, and user accounts meet current IA compliance.
+ Perform upgrades, optimizations, repairs, logistics, configuration management, and maintenance tasks on the core system. This will include-- but not be limited to: Workstations, Servers, Firewalls, Switches, and associated peripherals supported by C5ISC.
+ Coordinate between the project, engineering, support, and management teams to resolve all issues affecting system performance or availability.
+ Ensure all standard checklists are followed during and upon completion of any system modification or installation.
+ Maintain the NAIS lab located within the C5ISC facilities IAW USCG andC5ISC policies and procedures.
+ Install, replace, and maintain hardware located within the C5ISC lab as necessary to keep equipment at an acceptable operational level.
+ Be responsible to maintain the local lab environment as per current USCG standards to include equipment placement and cable dressing.
+ Make recommendations to improve the lab environment to meet operational changes as directed by the USCG.
+ Be responsible for installation and maintenance of the C5ISC NAIS Virtual Environment as per USCG policies as well as industry best practices.
+ Ensure that the VM operating system using VMWare is at the level authorized and approved by the USCG.
+ Create, maintain, and troubleshoot, as necessary, virtual computers in support of NAIS testing and analytical operations.
+ Assist in the development of the Pre-Installation Test and Checkout (PITCO) procedures.
+ Provide input as requested by the USCG in the development of Engineering Change documentation.
+ Provide input in the development of Maintenance Procedure Cards (MPC).
+ Install, configure, and maintain peripherals to support the virtual environment. Items include network, management, and storage devices.
**Qualifications**
+ Must be a US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
+ Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or Network Engineering with ten (10) years of network administration experience is required.
+ Additional experience with current Windows Operating Systems to include Windows client and server environments.
+ Experienced in the installation, maintenance, and upgrading of current VMWare environments.
+ Must have a working knowledge of maintaining CISCO switches and Firewalls.
+ An Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II competency with Security+ is required within 6 months of award
