Description We are looking for an Emergency Management Administrative Specialist to join our team in New York, New York. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in supporting emergency management initiatives by developing, maintaining, and revising operational plans, procedures, and mitigation strategies. This position requires strong organizational, collaboration, and project management skills to ensure the effective coordination of activities across internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and facilitate planning processes and meetings from initial concept development through plan implementation.
• Develop emergency management procedures, operational plans, checklists, and job aids to support preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation efforts.
• Conduct research to create, update, and maintain emergency management plans and protocols.
• Monitor and ensure the timely completion of daily tasks and long-term projects while maintaining a comprehensive view of unit activities.
• Collaborate with organizational units to conduct annual reviews of major planning documents, identify areas for improvement, and establish updated priorities.
• Track, manage, and report on assigned projects independently, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met.
• Work on special assignments and projects as directed to support the department’s goals.
• Maintain effective communication and coordination with internal and external partners to ensure seamless project execution. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• At least one year of experience in emergency management or a related area.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in administrative tasks such as data entry, answering inbound calls, and receptionist duties.
• Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
