MV-75 Experimental Maintenance Lead

Bell is seeking an experienced, self-motivatedMV-75 Experimental Maintenance Lead to join Bell's MV-75 Experimental Maintenance Operations team.This positionwill report to the Manager, MV-75 Experimental Operations and lead the experimental maintenance efforts on Bell’s MV-75 prototypes in Amarillo, TX.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to coordination of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, modifications, and repairs to be performed with MV-75 Flight Test Engineering, Flight Test Operations, Instrumentation and Build/Manufacturing Engineering.

They will support development of Functional Test Procedures (FTPs), development of Aircraft System Interim Procedures (ASIPs), development of support equipment Statement of Works (SOWs), maintenance scheduling, and be a conduit for all work performed on aircraft.

This position is based at Bell Textron’s Amarillo Assembly Center in Amarillo, TX.

What you’ll be doing as the MV-75 Experimental Maintenance Lead

Focus on safety in every area of experimental maintenance and flight test operations.Develop and cultivate a safety culture.

Responsible for the execution of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, modifications and repairs of the MV-75 experimental aircraft and coordinate flight test instrumentation tasks.

Support and lead maintenance efforts on aircraft to include coordination with Flight Test Engineering, Flight Test Instrumentation, Design Engineering, Liaison Engineering, and Amarillo Flight Operations.

Identify potential issues early, efficiently resolve problems and incorporate risk mitigation planning.

Provide work instructions, direction and support for maintaining, troubleshooting and upgrading all related experimental maintenance and flight test instrumentation systems.

Manage documentation including updates to procedures, distribution of meeting notes, metric reporting, use of reporting tools, distribution of schedule updates/status and maintain proper configuration management documents.

Maintain proficiency in the use of specialized Bell developed software applications for experimental maintenance systems.

Ensure data is accurate and complete.

Effectively interface and communicate with the Amarillo MV-75 Operations Manager, Amarillo Flight Operations Manager, Flight Research Center Maintenance Manager, Test and Evaluation Manager, Experimental Maintenance Operations Manager, Flight Test Instrumentation Electrical Engineering Manager, Flight Test Instrumentation Mechanical Engineering Manager, Flight Research Center Maintenance Lead, Redstone Test Center Maintenance Lead, Core Team, product IPT's, and other site and functional leaders on matters related to experimental maintenance requirements and support.

Skills You Bring To this Role

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidiscipline support functions to include engineering disciplines (manufacturing, procurement, finance, IT, technical publications, customer support, integrated operations, quality, contracts), customers, suppliers and partners in various locations.Demonstrated knowledge of developmental aircraft manufacturing processes and flight test aircraft maintenance operations.Familiarity with Primavera Project Manager, SAP, Microsoft Office or similar project management tools.Demonstrated ability to lead and execute.

What you need to be successful

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or related disciplineMinimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft manufacturing, experimental or production flight test, or aircraft maintenanceCandidate must be eligible to obtain Secret Security ClearanceTravel as needed between Amarillo and Huntsville facilities (up to 15% anticipated).
