General Summary:
The Production Services Manager is a part of the Jack B. Kelley (JBK) Student Center management team and is under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of the JBK. The Production Services Manager will function as the department’s technical expert in regards to all audio-visual, event safety and security, and technical equipment maintenance in the Jack B. Kelley Student Center, Alumni Banquet Facility, JA Hill Chapel, Buffalo Stadium, First United Bank Center, any event contracting with Production Services, and other university facilities as needed. The Production Services Manager will serve as a liaison with other campus units and community organizations to support the mission of the University, Division of Student Affairs, and the Jack B. Kelley Student Center.
Responsibilities:
+ The Production Services Coordinator will oversee Production Services and the student A/V Technician staff.
+ Will function as the department’s technical expert in regards to all audio-visual, event safety and security, and technical equipment maintenance in the Jack B. Kelley Student Center, Alumni Banquet Facility, JA Hill Chapel, Buffalo Stadium, First United Bank Center, and any event contracting with Production Services, and other university facilities as needed.
+ Assists throughout the entire event process with regards to Production Services – planning, setup, operation, and strike.
+ Recruits, trains, schedules, supervises, and evaluates all employees involved in Production Services.
+ Prioritizes, organizes, and schedules work assignments and projects.
+ Serves as the audio-visual technician for large events on campus or where technical expertise is needed.
+ Assists with reservations from members of the campus community and community groups in relation to providing production services.
+ Contributes to the effective team management of all relevant problems, issues, and opportunities within the department.
+ Produces, records, directs, publishes, and edits promotional, commercial, and news videos.
+ Supports development and production of visualization projects and makes technical recommendations.
+ Sets up and operates cameras, lighting units, microphones, and other equipment for field production.
+ Performs video post-production tasks including logging footage, creating rough cuts, and revised and final versions of video clips.
+ Conceptualizes and coordinates content and design services.
+ Will serve as a liaison to other University divisions, departments, and community organizations in the planning and delivery of activities in and around the JBK with particular emphasis on larger campus-wide events (i.e. Buff Branding, Homecoming, Graduation, etc.).
+ Maintains 100% compliance with timely completion of required System, University and job-specific online training courses.

Necessary Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience
+ Four (4) years of experience with intermediate knowledge working in areas of stage lighting, live sound, video, and/or digital signage is required.
+ Must have intermediate knowledge of electrical, electronic, and rigging standards and practices.
+ Demonstration of advanced computer experience coupled with experience in troubleshooting technology issues.
+ Proven team player with a collaborative approach to leadership.
+ Must have excellent customer/quality service skills.
+ Highly effective interpersonal skills with proven ability of establishing and maintaining effective, cooperative working relationships with various campus and community constituents.
+ Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail a must.
+ Must have the ability to work independently on several projects simultaneously.
+ Ability to lift and hold items, usually in excess of 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree
+ Practical experience in the delivery of educational and social programming on a college campus is preferred.
+ Specific experience as it relates to live entertainment production environments.
+ Specific knowledge of non-linear audio, video, and lighting control systems and familiarity with content creative software; such as Adobe Creative Cloud Design Suite.
+ Large Crowd Management Certified
+ First Aid / CPR / AED Certified
+ Aerial Lift Certified.
+ Experience working with campus-wide scheduling software.
