WFXR in the beautiful Roanoke Valley of Virginia is looking for a Multimedia Journalist to join our team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about storytelling.  If you have strong writing skills and an engaging delivery, we want to hire you. This MMJ will shoot, write, voice, and edit news content for both our newscasts and our website at WFXRTV.com.Duties & Responsibilities Include:Report news stories for broadcast and digital platformsPitch leadable, enterprise stories that are relevant to the communityArrange and conduct live and recorded interviewsReviews copy and ensure accuracy in content, grammar and punctuation following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelinesEnsures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production qualityInteract with viewers/users on digital platformsPerform special projects and other duties as assignedKey traits & competencies:Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experienceExcellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to ad lib when requiredEngaging on-air presenceProficiency with newsroom technologyAbility to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyValid driver’s license with a safe driving recordFlexibility to work any shiftPositive attitude and desire to grow skillsDetail-orientedDemonstrate editorial judgment using knowledge of journalism ethics and libel lawsThe Region:WFXR is located in the Roanoke Valley of Virginia.  It is known for its many outdoor activities, from hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway to kayaking and cycling.
