Essential Responsibilities:
Interpret job order tickets accuratelyRead and understand blueprints and utility mapsPlan efficient travel routes through both urban and rural locationsOperate specialized locating equipment to identify the exact position of underground utilitiesMonitor excavation activities to ensure underground facilities are not damagedCreate clear and professional utility sketches using VisioQualifications:
1–3 years of experience locating underground utilities or working with outside plant fiber opticsSelf-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to work with minimal supervisionExperience with telecommunications and wiring is an assetFamiliarity with locate ticketing and mapping tools such as Utilocate, Multiviewer, and U2 is considered an assetExperience using Microsoft Visio to create locate sketches is also an assetA positive, customer-focused attitude with strong problem-solving skillsWillingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing field conditionsStrong written and verbal communication skillsComfortable using multiple computer applications and digital toolsMust hold a Class 5 driver's license and provide a clean driver’s abstractCommitted to maintaining vehicle, tools, and testing equipment in top conditionWork Conditions:
Company van and major tools are providedTravel required, including overnight stays and out-of-town training or assignmentsPreference will be given to local candidatesWork takes place in a variety of outdoor conditions — including uneven terrain, residential areas, construction zones, and all weatherPhysically able to meet the demands of the role (walking, standing, bending, etc.)Additional Information
