The job holder would contribute to the technical output of the team on mainly hydraulic components and systems projects on customer applications in Japan and abroad.  Knowledge and experience for hydraulic components; pump, motor, valve, cylinder, cartridge valves, Accumulator etc.  Knowledge and experience for electric system and components; controller, motor, inverter, etc.  Software knowledge, experience with programming capability.  Application experience with mobile and industrial equipment.  Capability for utilizing test device for equipment.  Design and produce technical drawings for the components and system projects  Produce supporting product manuals, process and project documentation.  Develop the products and systems within the design team  Provide Engineering support to the business unit as required  Liaise with customers on assigned projects  Produce and review engineering documents, understand customer requirements and provide responses to technical issues.  Support business development activities  Produce technical proposals and quotations for components and system and sub-system projects  Technical sign-off for mechanical designs produced by the department.  Lead the design review process for product release  Ensures the technical excellence and compliance of the projects within the business unit  Contribute to improve the way of working within the department  Liaise with all internal departments to gain understanding / input and ensure a smooth transition of the projects into production.  Liaise with Quality and EHS departments to ensure standards are maintained.  Experience for working with OEM customer.  Experience for trouble shooting with customer  Experience for hydraulic component introduction to others  Work within a lean environment and adopt lean principles  Degree qualified in engineering discipline and 5 years minimum experience  Strong engineering capability including hydraulic components and systems knowledge and experience  Excellent report writing and presentation skills  Experience of compiling detailed technical drawings  Excellent communication, interpersonal and team working skills.  Flexible approach to work  Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously  A good understanding of lean principles and managing safety  Native level Japanse and buisiness level English skill essential
