Duties and Responsibilities
This position is responsible for analyzing complex potential fraud cases for the Fraud Analysis Unit within the Bureau of Motorist Services Support. The position supports tax collectors, law enforcement, stakeholders, and the public in compiling, researching, and evaluating the necessary information to conduct in-depth complex analysis of gathered data to identify and determine underlying facts and reasons in a potential fraud case prior to escalating the case for criminal investigation. The position independently performs complex, difficult assignments and investigations requiring the ability to analyze complex motor vehicle, driver license, and parking permit fraud cases and escalated immigration problems to provide an accurate and efficient recommended action or final resolution. This position actively gathers information for analyzing higher-level complex fraud cases through communication with internal and external authorities to obtain and exchange information, in person, in writing or electronically.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Knowledge of methods of data collection and being able to analyze information and determine its validity
+ Skill in analyzing and monitoring driver license or motor vehicle transactions
+ Skill in using Driver and Vehicle Information Database (DAVID), Online Registration and Identity Operating Network (ORION), and/or Florida Real-Time Vehicle Information System (FRVIS)
+ Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data to document workflow and determine courses of action that will assist in investigations
+ Ability to recognize, analyze, and research criminal trends and patterns
+ Knowledge of fact-finding and problem-solving techniques
+ Ability to organize data into a logical format for presentation, both electronically and written
+ Ability to work with confidential information
+ Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite
+ Skill in communicating effectively, verbally and in writing
+ Skill in providing customer service to diverse clientele in a tactful, courteous, and non-judgmental manner
Job Related Requirements
+ Alternate shifts/workdays may be required based on agency need.
+ The position you are applying for is subject to a Level 2 background and CJIS security clearance, to include fingerprinting as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. As an applicant for positions requiring CJIS security clearance, you are required to disclose criminal records that have been sealed or expunged.

+ The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
+ Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
+ FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
