Leidos Defense Systems Sector is currently seeking to fill a MRP Production Planner role.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintain Proper Manufacturing Lead-times, and order policies for Make Items in CostpointAnalyze demand signals and quickly identify any anomalies.Interpret MRP action messages and diagnose root causes of planning discrepancies or system anomalies to support accurate material planning.Support internal and external audits, providing documentation and reporting necessary for government contract compliance and inventory traceability.Ensure planning activities are aligned with project budgets, schedules, and regulatory requirements, including FAR/DFARS compliance.Monitor and analyze excess and obsolete material trends.Continuously evaluate MRP settings, planning parameters, and system outputs to identify inefficiencies.Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Engineering, Production, and Program Management, to support end-to-end planning processes.Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the material planning process to enhance MRP accuracy, reduce planning cycle times, and increase on-time material availability.Basic Qualifications
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of prior relevant work experience or a Masters degree with 3+ years of prior relevant work experience. In lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED with 8 years of experience will be consideredCandidate must have at least 3 years of experience in manufacturing or purchasing activities, including experience obtaining quotes, generating manufacturing orders and interacting with vendors and programs.Candidate must have demonstrated leadership experience in a previous role.Candidate must have strong knowledge of Bills of Material (BOMs), Routings, Order Policies, Lead Times, and other planning parameters that impact supply and demand alignment.Candidate must have experience in project-based inventory management, particularly within government contracting environments requiring strict compliance and traceability.Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and their integration with manufacturing and supply chain operations.Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance.Skilled in interpreting MRP action messages and diagnosing root causes of planning discrepancies or system anomalies to support accurate material planningExperienced in project-based inventory management, particularly within government contracting environments requiring strict compliance and traceabilityStrong knowledge of Bills of Material (BOMs), Routings, Order Policies, Lead Times, and other planning parameters that impact supply and demand alignmentCollaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Engineering, Production, and Program Management, to support end-to-end planning processesFamiliar with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and their integration with manufacturing and supply chain operationsProactively reviews and responds to MRP action messages to ensure timely material availability and minimize production disruptionsEnsures planning activities are aligned with project budgets, schedules, and regulatory requirements, including FAR/DFARS complianceSupports internal and external audits, providing documentation and reporting necessary for government contract compliance and inventory traceabilityPreferred Qualifications

Pay Range:Pay Range $50,700.00 - $91,650.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
