Primary Responsibilities
Manage the daily activities of Material Planners and Production Planners.
Maintain Proper Manufacturing Lead-times, and order policies in Costpoint.
Analyze demand signals and quickly identify any anomalies.
Interpret MRP action messages and diagnose root causes of planning discrepancies or system anomalies to support accurate material planning.
Support internal and external audits, providing documentation and reporting necessary for government contract compliance and inventory traceability.
Ensure planning activities are aligned with project budgets, schedules, and regulatory requirements, including FAR/DFARS compliance.
Monitor and analyze excess and obsolete material trends among MRP projects.
Continuously evaluate MRP settings, planning parameters, and system outputs to identify inefficiencies and implement data-driven improvements.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Engineering, Production, and Program Management, to support end-to-end planning processes.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the material planning process to enhance MRP accuracy, reduce planning cycle times, and increase on-time material availability.
Skilled in interpreting MRP action messages and diagnosing root causes of planning discrepancies or system anomalies to support accurate material planning.
Experienced in project-based inventory management, particularly within government contracting environments requiring strict compliance and traceability.
Strong knowledge of Bills of Material (BOMs), Routings, Order Policies, Lead Times, and other planning parameters that impact supply and demand alignment.
Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Engineering, Production, and Program Management, to support end-to-end planning processes.
Familiar with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and their integration with manufacturing and supply chain operations.
Proactively reviews and responds to MRP action messages to ensure timely material availability and minimize production disruptions.
Ensures planning activities are aligned with project budgets, schedules, and regulatory requirements, including FAR/DFARS compliance.
Supports internal and external audits, providing documentation and reporting necessary for government contract compliance and inventory traceability.
Basic Qualifications
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience will be considered.
Candidate must have at least 3 years of experience in manufacturing or purchasing activities, including experience obtaining quotes, generating manufacturing orders and interacting with vendors and programs.
Candidate must have strong knowledge of Bills of Material (BOMs), Routings, Order Policies, Lead Times, and other planning parameters that impact supply and demand alignment.
Candidate must have experience in project-based inventory management, particularly within government contracting environments requiring strict compliance and traceability.
Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and their integration with manufacturing and supply chain operations.
Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
Candidate must have demonstrated leadership experience in a previous role.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Actual shop floor experience in a fast paced Manufacturing Environment.
Knowledge and experience using Deltek CostPoint MRP.
Electromechanical components or manufacturing.
Deltek Costpoint accounting software.
Windchill configuration management software.
Interpreting and creating Bills of Materials.
Government contractor material purchasing requirements.
APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP).
