Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
Demonstrate understanding of: human anatomy and physiology; pathology; pharmacology; medical terminology; MR technique; patient positioning for MRPrepare patients for procedures and take care of patient needs during examinations or proceduresPerform venipuncture, manage intravenous access, and administer medications as prescribedSelect appropriate pulse sequences with consideration of established protocols and other factors that influence data acquisition parametersEvaluate medical images for quality and to ensure patient identificationResponsible for adherence to ACR MR safety guidelines such as restricting area access, screening patients and others for MR access, and observing and controlling the MR areasPossess MR safety knowledge and research implanted devices - Apply principles of MR safety to minimize risk to patients, self and othersIdentify and respond to emergency situationsPerform ongoing quality assurance and educational activities as assignedEducate and monitor students and other health care providersMust be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.These statements are intended to describe the essential functions of the job and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.
