MRI Technologist - (Full-Time)
**Description:** _As an MRI Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services using magnetic resonance imaging equipment. You’ll work closely with radiologists and healthcare teams to ensure accurate imaging, patient safety, and compassionate care throughout the scanning process._ **Responsibilities:** + Maintain clinical competency in all MRI procedures and equipment operation. + Properly identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol for all exams. + Review patient history and physician orders to apply appropriate imaging protocols, including contrast preparation and administration. + Accurately document patient history and exam details in the electronic medical record. + Present relevant clinical information to the radiologist prior to the start of each exam. + Ensure accurate coding, tracking, and archiving of exams in RIS and PACS systems, and enter all related charges. + Adhere to and promote MR safety standards within the department. + Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients and coworkers, demonstrating respect and empathy. + Collaborate with team members across departments to ensure efficient patient care. + Clearly explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and encourage cooperation. Shifts: This temporary position will work rotating shifts: 6am-2pm, 7am-3pm, 9am-5pm, 1pm-9pm. You will typically need to rotate one weekend per month. May be subject to work other shifts/days based on hospital needs. + Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology, or completion of an accredited CNMT, ARMRIT or ARDMS program. + ARRT registry eligible technologist must obtain ARRT within 6 months of hire date. + MR registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was acquired or date of hire if primary registry is already obtained. + CNMT, ARDMS and ARMRIT graduates must obtain MR registry within 12 months of hire date. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** + ARRT Certificate OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire. + Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal + Act 33 with renewal + Act 34 with renewal + Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
