A member of Catholic Health Services of Long Island, St. Francis is consistently recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a national leader for Cardiology & Heart Surgery, as well as for Gastroenterology & GI Surgery Job Details Position Summary The MRI Technologist performs high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies in accordance with established protocols and safety standards. This individual plays a key role in delivering exceptional patient care, ensuring accurate imaging, and contributing to the collaborative environment of the Imaging Department at St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center. Responsibilities + Perform MRI examinations according to physician orders and established departmental protocols for all body parts, including neuro, musculoskeletal, body, cardiac, and vascular imaging. + Demonstrate advanced knowledge of specialized protocols, including stroke, neuro, and abdominal MRI techniques. + Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure, maintaining a calm, compassionate, and reassuring demeanor. + Operate MRI scanners and related equipment efficiently and safely, following all MRI safety regulations and screening procedures. + Collaborate closely with radiologists, technologists, nurses, and support staff to ensure seamless workflow and timely completion of studies. + Accurately document patient information, procedure details, and image data within EPIC and PACS systems. + Maintain cleanliness and readiness of MRI rooms, coils, and equipment; promptly report any equipment malfunctions. + Participate in rotating schedules, including varied hours, weekends, and holidays, as departmental needs require. + Uphold the ICARE values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence in every interaction. Qualifications + Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program. + Certification: ARRT (R) certification required; MRI certification (ARRT MR) preferred or obtained within one year of hire. + Current New York State Radiologic Technologist License. + Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. + Experience: Minimum of one (1) year MRI experience preferred, with strong proficiency in body, neuro, and stroke imaging protocols. + Skills: Strong technical knowledge of MRI systems (Siemens preferred). Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment Salary Range USD $52.66 - USD $65.52 /Hr. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
