The Movable Bridge Mechanical Practice Lead will focus their significant experience and capabilities to resolve technical projects challenges of greater scope and complexity, perform technical training, develop best practices guidelines, and mentor staff within their expertise (mechanical). They will be expected to provide support and lead initiatives related to the Movable Bridge Technology Center, while continuing to provide high-level technical consultation and quality control reviews, for projects and pursuits.

Demonstrate exceptional leadership and set the standard of practice for a particular area of expertise within HDRServe as a senior technical advisor to multiple projects involving complex technical challengesDrive outstanding project delivery and support successful team performance, particularly for projects involving complex multi-disciplinary teamsWork to establish a quality culture and support innovative solutions to drive design and technical excellence across the organizationMentor and develop other professionals within area of expertise to elevate an area of practice across HDRAttract highly qualified candidates to join HDR to grow and strengthen the practice.Establish client relationships and work with teams to identify and win opportunities to grow the practice across HDRServe as a thought leader for area of expertise to elevate the capabilities of HDR and its professionalsRepresent HDR through participation in professional community to build HDR's reputation as a world-class provider of professional services

Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience with an engineering consulting firmExpereince in all moveable bridge machinary, specifically Subject Matter Expert knowledge at inspection/assessment of machinaryExpereince deliverying moveable bridge rehabilitation and new design for railroad, DOTs, local governments, etc.Industry recognition for delivering innovative design(s)Demonstrated knowledge of industry-applicable codes and standardsRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in EngineeringA minimum of 20 years of experienceRequires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.Extensive experience in project executionProficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard design software.  Must be comfortable being viewed as a technical expert in engineering analysis and design and have proven background of technical leadership on these types of projectAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
