Job Summary:

The Mountain Bike Program Manager plays an integral role in launching a new Mountain Bike program at Woodward PA. This role will work closely with members of the Woodward Global Leadership Team and the entire Woodward PA leadership team.  This role manages all aspects of the MTB summer camp program including staffing, schedules and curriculums, athlete and partner activations, and camper/parent support and communications. Requires up to  4 months onsite at Woodward PA, for lead up and operations during  summer camp.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Development and operation of the Woodward PA MTB programWork with the WW Global leadership team and Woodward PA leadership team to develop the Woodward PA MTB programManage all aspects of the Woodward PA MTB programHiring, training and oversight of all MTB program staffDevelopment of MTB camper and staff schedulesLead and facilitate MTB camper instruction sessions, clinics and eventsOversite of the MTB trails and zone maintenanceCommunicate with camper parents as needed, including Guest Research commentsExecution of MTB Athlete and Partner activationsStaying current and relevant on the latest trends, guidelines, and GAIPP for operations and providing appropriate recommendations.Represent Woodward within MTB industry, brands and partnersStaff training and guest coaching appearances for all applicable Woodward branded mountain biking experiences when and where appropriate.Assist with mountain bike and related capital planning activitiesWork with VP of Development and Innovative Environments and WWPA Leadership Team to develop the overall bike park, trail, and MTB environment development plan.Assist in choosing design and construction contractors.Construction oversite and quality control.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Min 3-5 years of experience working in action sports, operations, and/or marketing.Min 3-5 years of experience working with youth, preferable in a camp environment.Deep industry experience in mountain biking.Demonstrated experience in MTB course design, MTB park operations, camp planning and executionMTB teaching certification (BICP, IMBA, PMBA)Safe Sport CertificationProficiency in Microsoft Suite

Basic Requirements

License/Certifications- valid driver’s license requiredCriminal history clearances from the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH) system, child abuse clearances from the Department of Public Welfare, and federal history through FBI fingerprint screeningWeekly meetings, progress reports and work plansTechnical- management and communications, public speaking; sales, marketing and reservations systems (CT); strong grasp of resort/hospitality business and financial models and metricsPhysical Capabilities- bending, lifting, standing, participating in Woodward sportsAdditional- listening and problem-solving skills, a positive “can do” attitude, and a collaborative leadership style

Supervisory Responsibilities

+/- 5-10 employees

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel to Woodward PA between October-April as-needed; could be as much as once per month. Lodging will be provided onsite and other travel expenses will be covered by Woodward.Ability to live on campus from May-August; room and board provided by Woodward.
