**Job Description** **Onsite:** This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis. **The Role** As a Senior CFD Analyst at GM Motorsports, you'll leverage cutting-edge tools and methodologies to tackle complex fluid dynamics challenges, foster continuous improvement in simulation accuracy, and contribute to solutions that propel our vehicles to victory. This role demands strong analytical skills, expertise in CFD software (such as Siemens Star CCM+), and a passion for motorsports. Working within our aerodynamics group, you will play a key role in the development, validation, and in-depth analysis of full-vehicle and subsystem CFD models. By integrating CFD insights with wind tunnel testing and real-world track data, you’ll refine designs and predict performance outcomes. Collaboration with cross-functional engineers, including those from other GM Motorsports groups and our elite Key Partner teams, will be key to translating simulation results into tangible vehicle enhancements. This role offers you the opportunity to shape the future of racing in a high-stakes, collaborative environment! **What You’ll Do** + Support and lead full car and subsystem models capable of detailed aerodynamic simulation. + Develop and execute CFD simulations, analyze and report on results to help GM teams develop race winning cars. + Plan and conduct correlational analysis of CFD and wind tunnel test results. + Encourage and assist colleagues to work in an efficient and high paced manor to increase the performance and knowledge of the team. + Assist developers to implement new methods and processes to the GM Motorsport pipeline. + Remain apprised of the latest developments in the field of CFD to keep the models at the leading edge of technology. + Interface and collaborate with GM Race Teams, GM Production, GM IT and GM Software groups to ensure technology developed is transferred effectively. **What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)** + Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or a related subject with coursework in Aerodynamics, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and Thermodynamics. + Over 6 years of industry experience across motorsports, automotive, aerospace, and marine sectors, with a strong focus on technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration. + Substantial experience with CFD software (Star CCM+) as well as other flow simulation and visualization related software and methods. + Experience with CAD software and design methodology. + Experience with scripting languages (Python and Java preferred). + Strong written, verbal and organizational skills and attention to detail. + Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment, with strong work ethic and integrity. + Self-motivation along with the ability to effectively work with others and support team goals. + This job may be eligible for relocation benefits. **What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)** + Expertise of CAD software (Siemens NX and ANSA preferred). + Significant experience developing detailed models and meshes ready for CFD simulations. + Knowledge of the regulations for various motorsport series. + Knowledge of data collection and correlational methods for use during wind tunnel or track tests. + Proficiency in Linux, Windows and Microsoft Azure environments. + Understanding of various aerodynamic turbulence models as they relate to specific CFD test methods and results. + Experience with the architecture and performance of various automotive race vehicles. \#LI-LP2 **About GM** Our vision is a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion and we embrace the responsibility to lead the change that will make our world better, safer and more equitable for all. **Why Join Us** We believe we all must make a choice every day – individually and collectively – to drive meaningful change through our words, our deeds and our culture.
