We are looking for a person to be hired within the Research & Development Global Central Function who will be responsible for the mechanical design of electric motor assembly and components such as single pole or complete stators, different rotors topology or metallic and plastic housings. This role focuses on the mechanical design and development of electric motor components and assembly for mechatronics systems. You will be in charge of study new concepts, analize and fill patents, designing, analyzing, and optimizing mechanical parts of electric motors, ensuring high standard of performance, quality, reliability, and manufacturability.
Main responsibilities:
Study new concept of motors or new innovative solutions, analizing prior art, patents and eventually following the patent filing process Develop and optimize designs from concept through production, ensuring the highest standards of performance, efficiency, and manufacturability. Choose appropriate materials for motor components related to durability, mechanical strength, weight, and manufacturability factors. Perform mechanical analysis or calculation to assess mechanical integrity of motor parts under various operating conditions define by product specifications or to interface with CAE team to support simulation and output evaluation. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure feasibility analysis and high quality standards request by application. Develop 3D and 2D drawings to oversee prototypes for new motor components and assembly. Develop the DFMEA analysis, the procedure, the manuals and the technical documentation Collaborate with other teams to ensure best components/assembly integration into overall system (gearbox, PCBA, others). Implement continuous improvement by identifying areas for motor design optimization, manufacturing processes and methodologies. Implement corrective actions based on testing or application feedback Implement innovation approach to motor components and assembly design. Collaborate to identify with benchmark activities best practice from suppliers/competitors.Minimum requirements:
Master degree in Mechanical Engineering; Previous experience of 3-5 years in mechanical design of electric motor, mechanical systems, and manufacturing processes; Knowledge of 3D modeling and 2D realization; Good level of English language.Nice to have:
Design for manufacturing and knowledge of processes; Previous experience in automotive sector; Contact to industrialization partners and suppliers for industrialization of electric motors, components or sub-assembly; Experience with FE tools for EMAG design, preferably Altair Flux/flux Motor and Motor-CAD; Experience in DFMEA & PFMEA Analysis.Location: Stezzano (BG) – Italy
